Rector of Wrington with Butcombe and Burrington, North Somerset

An Incumbent is sought for the Benefice of Wrington with Butcombe and Burrington in the Diocese of Bath and Wells.


The four villages of the Benefice lie in an area of great natural beauty to the south west of Bristol and north of the Mendips. Wrington (the largest village) is approximately 11 miles from Bristol, 17 miles from Bath, 14 miles from Wells, 5 miles from Bristol International Airport, and 5 miles from Yatton mainline railway station. There is easy access to the M5 at junctions 20 (Clevedon) and 21 (St George's, near Weston-super-Mare).


The Key Tasks identified for the person appointed are:

  • To love and pastor the congregations 
  • To develop a ministry with young families and build on links with the schools  
  • To deepen discipleship and spiritual growth 
  • To maintain a variety of services seeing diversity as an opportunity  
  • To be a visible part of the wider community 
  • To foster music and worship 
  • To recognise the wish of some to use the churches for a variety of events, mindful that they are houses of prayer
